AQUART Metal-Plastic Multilayer Pipes

PEX-AL-PEX Metal-Plastic Pipes are five-layered cross-linked polyethylene tubing with a 100% airproof base structural layer of aluminum sandwiched between two layers of PEX.

Multilayer metal-plastic pipes  are produced for plumbing and central heating systems and can be well suited for installing underfloor radiant heating sytems.

PPR AQUART BIO pipes

Nanometer antibacterial pipes contain carriers of silver ions which can inactivate protein on bacteria cell membrane and thus play a role of sterilization. Its broad-spectrum antibacterial ability enhanced by a long-term action of inorganic bactericidal agents can efficiently inhibit propagation of microbes.
A nanometer antibacterial PPR pipe doesn’t mean merely one bactericidal layer. It has been designed to the requirements of integral antibacterial effectiveness  and the whole pipe structure from inner to outer layers fully meets the antibacterial standards.

Nanometer material is composed of nanometer particles which are defined as particles in size between 1-100 nanometers. Nanometer materials can be divided into two categories, i.e. metal ion and semi-conductor oxide one,  being the silver ion the typical type of the former. Integral nanometer antibacterial pipes are such materials that are made of silver PPR series bactericidal base particles in size of about 40 nm.

PPR-FB-PPR pipes with fiberglass

PPR-FB-PPR composite pipes with fiberglass middle layer

The structure of the new AQUART® pipes incorporates three layers: the inner and the outer polypropylene (PPR) layers filled with special additives and PPR-to-PPR middle fiberglass layer.

The outer layer is made of PPR-copolymer which can be easily treated during conventional pipe welding. It contains special agent additives making the pipe ultraviolet-resistant.
The second, middle layer of the new AQUART® pipes is formed by composite compounds consisting of PPR-copolymer and FB-fiberglass. Such composition provides for improving all technical features of the new AQUART® pipes including mechanical strength and resistance against exposure to high and low environmental temperatures.

The employment of new AQUART® pipes allowed, among other things, to solve the problem of polymer linear expansion/elongation which is found to be 4,5 times lower in comparison with conventional polypropylene pipes. The FB-fiberglass layer serves as an oxigen barrier allowing  to employ the new AQUART® pipes in individual heating systems instead of using metal-reinforced pipes.
The third, inner pipe layer is made of  PPR-copolymer ensuring the operation of such pipes in water supply systems in full compliance with requirements of sanitary standards.

PPR-AL-PPR reinforced-plastic AQUART® pipes

The reinforced-plastic AQUART®  pipes are a next advance step in PPR “pipe building” industry evolution.
They do not apparently differ from the commonly used reinforced pipes featuring both the same polypropylene outer layer and aluminum foil. But the foil is disposed in another way – more closer to the inner and not to the outer part of the pipe.

The outer diameter size of the new pipes is the same as the size of the conventional, not reinforced pipes, so they do not need shaving before welding operation, thus providing considerable time and labour savings, especially when the large pipe diameters  are concerned.
The second special feature of the new  reinforced-plastic AQUART® pipes is that their inner layer coming in contact with gas and fluids, can be made of various plastics  such as PPR, PEX, FB, HDPE, LDPE depending on the given technical application. The pipe applications can be therefore greatly extended beginning from conventional heating systems up to narrowly-specialized areas, related, for instance, to the chemical industry.
During pipe fabrication the aluminum foil is subject to ultrasonic welding and bonded to the PPR layers by means of  special-purpose adhesive.

The reinforced-plastic AQUART® pipes are certified in accordance with European Standard EN ISO 15874:2003 and German Standard DIN 8077-8078.
